My Story

A little about where I come from, and why I do this.

🌸Alvina's portrait goes here

I was born into a large family in Mexico. Like many kids in a big family, I often had to choose between working to help at home and going to school to get ahead — there wasn't always room for both.

I came to the United States legally, and once I was here, I earned my GED.

I've been a CNA — a certified nursing assistant — for more than 35 years. That's three and a half decades spent caring for people at their most vulnerable: helping them eat, move, rest, and get through a hard day with a little more dignity.

English didn't come easily at first. I learned it slowly, over the years, through persistence — one conversation at a time.

These days, I'm dedicating myself to helping people feel well, in whatever language they speak. That's what this site is — small habits and honest notes, from someone who has spent a career paying attention to what people need.
