Small Habit, Big Difference: Making Water Part of Your Day
Drinking enough water sounds so simple that it's easy to dismiss — until you actually track a normal day and realize how little you drink before dinner. This isn't about a strict rule; it's about a few small anchors that make water part of your routine instead of one more thing to remember.
Start before you're busy
The easiest glass of water is the one you drink before the day gets going — right after you wake up, before coffee, before checking your phone. It takes ten seconds and sets a small tone for the day.
Attach it to something you already do
A glass with breakfast, a glass after you drop the kids or grandkids off, a glass when you sit down to rest in the afternoon. Water is easiest to remember when it rides along with a habit you already have, rather than living on its own to-do list.
Keep it where you can see it
A filled bottle on the counter or your desk does more than any reminder app. If it's visible, you sip without thinking about it; if it's tucked in a cabinet, it's forgotten by 10am.
Flavor is not cheating
A slice of lemon, cucumber, or a few mint leaves can make a big glass of water much easier to finish, especially if plain water has never been your favorite. There's no rule that says it has to be boring to count.
None of this requires new equipment or a new personality — just a few small anchors in a day you're already living.
